East, how fast you go! One hot spot after another is opening its doors in this fine neighborhood. On the corner of Camperstraat, a few meters away from wine bar 4850, The Bab has officially opened its doors after a trial period. This small restaurant serves authentic Korean dishes and is already one of the best in Amsterdam according to connoisseurs.
On the menu at The Bab
The menu at The Bab was put together by owners Pyo & Sunny. They have chosen to keep it short so that every dish that leaves the kitchen is of the best quality. The flavors are authentic, as you would find in Korea or in Koreans' homes. Favorites include the Korean Fried Chicken and the Dolsot Bibimbab: a hot stone pot with vegetables, egg and fried beef or tofu in a spicy sauce. In addition, the Ho Tteok, pancakes with nuts and caramelized brown sugar, is worth trying if you like sweet.
Opening hours
The Bab is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. for lunch and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner.

There is currently a sensation going on in Amsterdam around 21-year-old student Kitsanin "Kit" Thanyakulsajja who runs his own "secret" restaurant as a sushi chef at hotel The Dylan in the 9 Streets. From Thursday to Sunday, Kit provides a 20-course Omakase menu for a select group of six guests.
