On the always cozy Beech Square in East you will find Mississippi Bar & Kitchen, which gets its name from the Mississippi River. This passes a large number of cities influencing the cuisine at the restaurant. Expect a mix of South American soul food and Tex-Mex dishes, tasty cocktails and a large selection of (specialty) beers. Another plus is the always friendly staff.
On the menu at Mississippi Bar & Kitchen
The menu at Mississippi features dishes to share as well as dishes to keep all to yourself. Choosing between appetizers like Smokehouse Nachos, Panfried Shrimps, Hush Puppies and Buffalo Hotwings is a task in itself. Of particular note is the Krusty Crocodile Burger with alligator meat and the Jumbo Gumbo, an authentic Louisiana stew served with chicken, tiger shrimp, okra, bell peppers, onions and rice. Our favorite is the slow-cooked Beef Brisket served with butter and carrots from the barbecue. If you still have room to spare after all this deliciousness, try the Mississippi Mudcake with oreo, Jack Daniels and chocolate.
Opening hours
Mississippi Bar & Kitchen is open from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. every day.
