It all started with the dream of being able to order their own white beer on tap on a sunny Amsterdam terrace. They more than succeeded. The beers from Gebrouwen door Vrouwen have become indispensable in Amsterdam's bars and on the shelves of the city's better supermarkets.
Brewing began at home as a hobby in their kitchen, in a 35-liter pan. Through trial and error, Do and Tessel learned to brew. Do honestly admits that in the beginning it wasn't always easy: "some of it exploded because we used too much yeast. Now they know exactly how to achieve their signature fresh and sweet taste. Besides, the life of a brewer is mostly a lot of fun.
'It's a fun hobby because every time the beer is done (and succeeded) we have a party!' So even if you don't want to make it your job a fun activity!
The world of beer brewing consists mostly of men. Lugging heavy casks occasionally weighs them down, but Brewed by Women proves that women make excellent brewers. "But, even though it is brewed by women, the taste is no less masculine because of it. They've also expanded their team quite a bit - with women, that is! It's been a while since they've been working out of their kitchen, now brewing everything brewed in collaboration with Lindeboom Bierbrouwerij in or Brouwerij Hoop in Zaandam.
Some of the range. The Gin Weizen is a white beer of 6.5{f791f0611bdbf5f3a463917397aee52cd69a73786905cbf7558cbb9605dad7de} with barley, spelt and wheat malt. The special flavor comes from the gin spices (juniper, orange peel and coriander seed) added to the beer. The Tricky Tripelis a heavy boy: a full-bodied beer that contains a lot of malt. It is so tasty that it can be tricky, so make sure you master it. There are also Ginger Gold, Blossom Blonde with elderflower and Dark White.

The beers of Gebrouwen door Vrouwen are sold throughout the Netherlands and even in China. High time, then, for their own bar. With a crowdfunding campaign, the ladies were able to make their dream come true. Gebrouwen door Vrouwen Bar recently opened in the Jan Pieter Heijestraat.
