The Duchess
Amsterdam is hot when it comes to hotels with international allure. After the arrival of world-renowned hotels such as Waldorf Astoria and Andaz to the canal belt, super-luxury hotel chains such as Soho House, W Hotel and W Residence will soon open a stone's throw from each other on the Spuistraat, in the Bungehuis, the Rijkskantoor building and De Kasbank, respectively. With the arrival of the hotels and accompanying restaurants and bars, Spuistraat will form a new culinary triangle. French-Italian-inspired restaurant The Duchess opened June 25 in the monumental building where De Kasbank formerly banked. Owner Yossi Eliyahoo (MOMO, Izakya, The Butcher, Shirkhan) calls The Duchess an upscale haven in the bustling heart of Amsterdam. "The race for quality knows no finish line, The Duchess raised the standard in this," said the hospitality entrepreneur.
