Joyous news that the restaurant has been given a second life. With Jean (read; Jan Grijspeere) as host. Without Marie. And with star chefs Richard van Oostenbrugge and Thomas Groot, and sommelier Daphne Oudshoorn (known from restaurants 212**, De Juwelier*, Bistro de la Mer* and De Mark) as co-owner.
'We are enormously happy to be able to help Jan Grijspeere continue his dream. After all, this is such a fine Amsterdam restaurant that must be preserved and where we ourselves used to frequent,' said Richard van Oostenbrugge, in conversation with Misset Horeca.
The location, the interior and the French cuisine are unchanged. Perhaps even better than it already was. And as you've come to expect from Auberge, the menu is full of French classics. But now cooked, baked and roasted by the team behind restaurants 212, The Jewelers and Bistro de la Mer.
Chef de Cuisine: Mike Tanina
The kitchen falls under the direction of Mike Tania, former sous chef of Bistro de la Mer* and kitchen assistant at 212**, both restaurants owned by Van Oostenbrugge, Oudshoorn and Groot.
"It gives a very nice feeling that Auberge is reviving. I was far from finished with the business and my guests. Too bad it is no longer together with Marije, that will take some getting used to. But I seize the opportunity to continue with both hands," Jan Grijspeere said about the relaunch in Misset Horeca.
