Summer evening at Artis: discover the zoo in a different light

This summer you can once again enjoy ARTIS Zoom Nights at the Amsterdam Zoo. This is your chance to experience the Artis Royal Zoo in a completely different light. During these evenings, party animals and music monkeys come together to learn what the animals are up to after hours. There is also live music and various workshops for children.

"Walk the barefoot path, taste the edible garden, listen to activating stories from future thinkers and leave your promise to the earth. Feel, hear, see, smell, taste, sing and dance along with all that is alive at Sweet Summer Nights."

Every Saturday in June, July and August it is time for ZOOmeravond. The special program begins at 3:00 p.m. and the park stays open until 10:00 p.m.. You will see some animals getting ready for bed, but others wake up and start the day as soon as the sun goes down. Learn more about these animals from the animal keepers telling you all about the daily schedule and their secrets.

This year also comes with a special theme; the edible garden. For the fourth year in a row, the zoo is filled with edible flowers and plants that animal caretakers can pick and feed to the animals. Discover how these flowers and plants affect the animals and learn how to plant your own edible garden.
