Melkweg is one of the most famous music venues in the Netherlands and abroad. The special thing about the Melkweg is its programming. As many as five art disciplines are united under one roof: music, dance/theater, film, photography and media art. Five venues host concerts, dance events, theater and dance performances, film screenings, media art presentations and photo exhibitions. The old, empty milk factory was transformed in the summer of 1970 into one of Amsterdam's most important hotspots with international allure. The biggest bands, artists and DJs have already performed at the Melkweg. Because all art disciplines and music styles are programmed together, every target group feels at home here.
